Thursday 6th March
Our school was filled with excitement as we celebrated World Book Day with a range of engaging activities designed to inspire a love of reading.
The day began with a special assembly led by Poet Matt Windle, who captivated the children with his enthusiasm for poetry. Following this, he visited each class to run interactive poetry workshops, where children worked together to create unique class poems. It was wonderful to see their creativity come to life through words.
The children arrived at school dressed as their favourite book characters, adding a splash of magic and adventure to the day. We saw Harry Potter, Mary Poppins, witches, astronauts, and many more beloved characters roaming the halls.
In the afternoon, the excitement continued with a variety of book-themed activities, including book quizzes, book hunts and bookmark making. These activities encouraged children to explore different stories and share their passion for reading.
It was truly a joy to witness the children's enthusiasm and imagination as they immersed themselves in the world of books. World Book Day was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate storytelling, creativity, and the joy of reading together!
